Shanti Bhushan Roy is a leading and renowned Indian Cinematographer, Filmmaker, Educator and Motion Picture Consultant.

An alumnus of prestigious Film and Television Institute of India, Pune – a pioneer Center of Excellence, under the Ministry of I&B, Government of India.

With a career spanning more than a decade, Shanti Bhushan Roy has mastered the various formats of Feature Film, Television, Documentary, and Web & Digital Audio Visuals.

His film credits include 12 Fiction Feature films and 11 Non-fiction Feature films. Shanti Bhushan Roy has not only worked on a number of Short Features, Numerous Company Promos and Music Videos but also traveled extensively across the length and the width of Indian Subcontinent to be able to work on dozens of international and domestic Documentaries on various topics ranging from Child Sexual Abuse, Female Feticide, Organic Farming, Rape Nation, Love Jihad, Khapp Panchayats, Domestic Violence, Gender Discrimination, Idea of India, Love, Sexuality, Politics, Buddhism, Textiles of India, Arts and Crafts, Variety of Communities across the boundaries and so on.

He has also worked with major Corporate Clients such as Hindustan Lever, Colgate Palmolive, Tata, L&T, Shell, ITC, Roche, Computer Society of India, etc. along with several International and Domestic TV channels like BBC, Discovery, NHK, STAR, SONY, EPIC & Doordarshan and OTT platforms like Netflix, Hotstar, Viu, etc.

Mr. Shanti Bhushan Roy has had the privilege of collaborating with a number of prominent Indian personalities like Aamir Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Amitabh Bachhan, 
MS Dhoni, Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor, Mahie Gill, Divya Dutta to name a few; and prominent Film Production houses like Aamir Khan Productions, Anil Kapoor Productions, Vikram Bhatt Productions, Swastik Productions, Bharat Shah Productions and so on.

Shanti Bhushan Roy has had the prestige of holding the title of Team Leader and Chief Cinematographer (Outdoor) on one of the most successful and path-breaking Indian television programs “Satyamev Jayate” hosted by Bollywood superstar Amir Khan.

Additionally, his expertise on leading Indian networks such as Star World, Sony, Sahara, Star Plus, which include prime-time programs, talk shows as well as current affairs has helped raise the bar of production quality and standards in the industry.

Beyond film and television, Mr. Shanti Bhushan Roy has worked on a number of TVCs for brands like Tata Steel, ITC, Pepsodent, Surf Excel, Dove Soap, Domex, and Bournvita to name a few.

He has also worked on several corporate AD films and CSR films for clients such as Tata Tele Services-Mumbai, MTDC-Mumbai, Godrej Foundation, Gates Foundation, UNDP, Azim Premji Foundation along with various NGOs such as SAVE the Children, Smile Foundation, CARE international and so on.

A true renaissance man, Shanti Bhushan Roy has also written two fiction story- screenplays to be made into feature films, developed four Web Series content and researched on three feature-length Documentary ideas. His contributions have also extended to guiding start-ups in the ideation and execution of their ideas.

A former software engineer and a Graduate in Science, Shanti Bhushan Roy has a passion for Filmmaking and it’s excitement encouraged him to turn into a Motion Picture Consultant & Producer.

He has been instrumental in co-founding three film production houses – Imaginem Cinema Pvt Ltd; X-tramiles Productions & Gentle Giants Motion Picture Entertainment based in India.

With a vast on-field experience and his desire to share with young filmmakers and inspire them led Shanti Bhushan Roy to be an Educator- he has been teaching and mentoring students since 2011 at various Government and Private Institutions – like Symbiosis International University, Symbiosis Institute of Mass communication, Symbiosis School of Photography based in Lavale, Pune; Digital Film Academy, Mumbai; Mumbai University, Mumbai; Symbiosis Institute of Mass Communication, Pune; MIT – Pune; Institute of Direct Taxes, Nagpur, Mindscreen Film School, Chennai; Auroville Film Institute & Auroville Timelines-Pondicherry, etc.

Mr. Shanti Bhushan Roy has featured prominently in International magazines like the distinguished “The American Cinematographer Magazine” & “In Camera”. He has been interviewed by various press and online portals, invited for talks and has been a Jury member and Special Invitee for various International and National Film and Cultural festivals.

Mr. Shanti Bhushan Roy is an avid reader with a voracious appetite for philosophy, psychology, theology, anthropology and world affairs. When he is inspired, he pens down his “Heart Scribbles” in the form of poetry, prose and articles. He is a technology enthusiast, an avid meditator and a Reiki Master.
